Vision

To help women live as life-givers—rooted in truth, refreshed by the Word, connected to God and others, and supported with tools to mother with purpose.

Mission

Through writing, speaking, and handcrafted resources, Chavamade creates space for women to encounter God, grow in Scripture, and build life-giving community. Whether around the table or through a screen, we equip mothers to walk in truth, lead with love, and live the life they were created to give.

The Beginning

Chavamade began in 2016, just a few months after the birth of my first son. As I navigated the challenges of postpartum depression in addition to my husband being gone often for Navy duty, I found solace in learning watercolor painting. What started as a personal journey soon blossomed into something more—I ventured into craft shows, gaining confidence, connections, and new skills along the way. Slowly, Chavamade was born.

The name "Chavamade" holds special meaning for me. While I go by my middle name, Kuhiwa, its pronunciation (Koo-HEE-va) often led people to shorten it to "Eve." Around that time, I met my husband, Adam, and the nickname stuck. This serendipitous connection to the biblical Eve who witnessed God's creativity firsthand, inspired me to embrace the Hebrew spelling of the name "Chava," and the meaning "mother of life." As a new mother finding life in creativity and sharing life with others, it felt fitting to name my shop "Chavamade."

Early on, I refurbished a vintage Shasta camper to serve as a mobile studio and a cozy space for my toddler during craft shows. This little camper, along with my growing brand, was even featured in a couple of magazines. Through Chavamade, I found life and purpose again, creating not just products but connections and community.

As the demands of raising more children, doing ministry, and supporting my husband as a military wife grew, I eventually had to pause Chavamade. But the desire to create, connect and pour into women never left me. Over the years, I felt a pull to revive Chavamade, though I struggled to find the right direction. It wasn’t until the Lord’s gentle nudging, confirmed by the encouragement of dear friends, that I decided to relaunch Chavamade.

Now, Chavamade has been reborn, better than I ever imagined. God has used this brand twice in my life to breathe life back into me, as I try to pour life into the women I encounter through this venue. Chavamade is more than a business—it’s a ministry where I’ve had the joy of forming lasting connections, praying with mothers in various stages of life, praying for and giving to countless foster children, and being exactly where I believe God wants me.

So I welcome you to my shop, but most importantly, I welcome you as a mother and as a friend! And I look forward to connecting with you as we create timeless treasures for you, and your friends and family!
